Are you feeling bored? Here are some confirmed practices that will help you get an energy boost and make you feel better.
Firstly, keep your thoughts positive. As soon as you think negatively about yourself, your surroundings, your future, your financial situation, you’re sure to get bogged down. If you find your thoughts turning towards this side, hold them immediately! Become aware of what you’re doing, and then replace these unhealthy thoughts with healthy and positive thoughts. You’ll need to continually practice doing this so that you can feel better and healthier more easily.
Secondly, cut down or do away with your consumption of caffeine. The excited feeling that you get after its consumption actually leaves you with lesser vigor after it subsides. Drink decaffeinated beverages instead of caffeinated ones. Also avoid sodas and coffee or caffeinated tea. Replace them with water and herbal tea. If you need a stimulant, use mint, as that is more beneficial.
Thirdly, sleep well. If you find it difficult fall asleep, try implementing a sleeping timetable, similar to the ones parents implement when they have babies. Make sure that it’s relaxing, and go to bed at the same time each night. Also get up each morning at a fixed time, even on holidays. This is important: your body will respond well to routine. Additionally, you can take short naps in the afternoons to get an energy boost. A regular nap lasting just 15 minutes can make you feel better in the long run.
Fourthly, take breaks to stretch. This will refresh you, and the yawing which goes along with stretching will help increase the oxygen content of your blood. Stretch your body parts as much as you can, and take deep breaths as you do so. Take a stretch break while working in your office about every 30 minutes. If you do this, you’ll find yourself energetic even at the end of the day.
Fifthly, exercise regularly. Taking a brisk walk at lunch time or in the afternoon can help you get an energy boost that lasts for hours. You don’t need to become an athlete to stay fit and healthy. Only make sure that you exercise regularly, even short sessions will do. This will be immensely useful.
Lastly, but most importantly, get rid of junk food from your diet. Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables and cereals. If you eat meat, choose low fat meat from well fed animals.
If, in spite of doing the above mentioned things, you aren’t feeling better, it’s time to visit your doctor. You may be suffering from some problem that is in need of professional assistance. |
